Age 

To qualify, you must be 19-years-old on the first day of your course. There is no upper age limit. 

Location 

You need to be living in the UK or have liked in the UK, the Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man for the past three years. 

Entry Requirements 

To qualify for 19+ loan, you need to be enrolling on an eligible course at Level 3 and above. 

How do you apply? 

Applying is simple; all you would need to do is choose which qualification you would like to enrol onto.

Our team will be in touch to carry out a Pre-assessment call to ensure you qualify and meet the course requirements. 
 
We will then book you an appointment for you to come in complete your application and initial induction which will cover full details of your course including start and end dates. 
 
You will need to have your proof of ID such as an in-date passport or Birth Certificate, National Insurance Number and proof of address. 
 
Once your Application has been completed all parties will then be notified by Student Finance England that your loan has been approved. You will receive a loan approval letter which you will need to bring in with you on the start date of your course. 

Can you apply more than once? 

Yes, you will be eligible to apply for more  19+ Advanced Learning Loans, for different qualification types, (up to a total of four loans) to help you progress in your studies. 
 
However... Please note that we recommend that you speak to us to discuss your objectives this we can ensure that these programs are suited to you. 
 
We never advise to enrol on more than one course at any one time (you are entering into a student loan with a commitment to pay back). 

How do you pay the loan back? 

 
You will only start making repayments if your income is more than £25,000 per year. 
 
Please see below an example of how much you could payback based on meeting the salary thresholds. 
 
Repayments start the April after you complete or withdraw from your course. 
 
You pay back your loan (plus interest) when you finish your course and earn more than £25,000 a year. Your repayments will stop if your income drops below £25,000 a year. 
 
Your annual repayment amount will be 9% of any income you earn over £25,000. 
 
Example: 
 
Your monthly repayments would be: 
 
£15 a month - if you earned £27,000 a year 
£37 a month - if you earned £30,000 a year 
 
 
Important Information 
 
When you apply for your chosen course, you are also applying for a student loan to cover the full course amount. The external course provider can explain in more detail if you require further information. Should you decide that you no longer wish to continue with the course, you may be liable to pay back the FULL course fees, even if you don't complete the course. 
 
This is why your course providers have a very strict and comprehensive enrolment process to ensure that the right students are signing up for the courses. Please only apply if you can commit 100% to the course layout, times and dates. Interested? Get in touch.
