Following the launch of the STA Swimming Teacher qualification, STA have mapped the qualifications to allow holders of the STA Award in Teaching Swimming qualification to complete an upskill pathway to either gain 
recognition of completion or should they wish, can upskill to hold the STA Swimming Teacher qualification. 
 
This option is for swimming teachers who require or would like to hold the STA Swimming Teacher qualification certificate. 
 
Swimming teachers complete the upskill programme and upon completion of the programme they are required to complete the STA Swimming Teacher Qualification MCQ assessment and be assessed delivering a 30 minute practical lesson on either: survival skills, rescue skills or diving to between 4 – 6 participants.
